The $1,000 Launch Stipend — bridging certification to first paycheck
Every certified FOCUS graduate receives a $1,000 Launch Stipend to carry them through the gap between landing the job and cashing their first paycheck. That gap is where most graduates from under-served communities lose their footing — before they ever sit at their desk.
The stipend covers the practical, often-invisible costs that make a new career possible:
Professional clothing for the office
Gas, transit passes, or ride share to get to work
Lunch money for the first weeks on the job
Small personal bills that come due before payday
One sponsor underwrites one graduate’s first month of independence. That’s what your dollars do.
Hi there! I’m a bike messenger by day, aspiring actor by night, and this is my website. I live in Los Angeles, have a great dog named Jack, and I like piña coladas. (And gettin’ caught in the rain.)
